Nori arrived at the trailhead of Mount Tongariro on a bright morning with his pack and hiking boots ready. “This looks amazing,” he said softly as he checked the map.

After a while, he met a backpacker from Germany who was hiking alone. “Hi, is this your first time here?” Nori asked with a friendly smile.

Later, they met a woman from Canada resting beside a clear mountain stream. “Would you like some trail snacks?” she asked as she opened her bag.

Near the summit, they stopped to take photos and enjoy the wide view. “Wow, look at those mountains and lakes,” the Canadian woman said with excitement.

He started walking along the track with green trees, dark rocks, and wide blue skies. “The weather is perfect for hiking today,” Nori said as he followed the trail.

“Yes, it is,” the backpacker replied, “but Mount Tongariro is very beautiful.” Nori nodded and said, “The views on this track are really impressive.”

“Thank you, that’s very kind,” Nori said as they all started hiking together. “I enjoy meeting people from different countries on the trail.”

When the hike ended, Nori said, “It was great hiking with you,” and waved goodbye. He knew this Mount Tongariro adventure would always be special to him.
Nori Meets a German Hiker
Nori: Hi there! Beautiful day for a hike, isn’t it?
German Hiker: Yes, it really is. The weather is perfect for the trail today.
Nori: Is this your first time hiking Mount Tongariro?
German Hiker: Yes, it is. I arrived in New Zealand just a few days ago.
Nori: Oh, nice! Where are you from in Germany?
German Hiker: I’m from Munich. How about you?
Nori: I’m from Japan. I love hiking and meeting travelers on the trail.
German Hiker: That’s great. Have you done many hikes in New Zealand?
Nori: Not yet. This is my first big one here.
German Hiker: The views are amazing, especially near the summit.
Nori: Yes, I’ve heard the lakes up there are very beautiful.
German Hiker: Do you usually hike alone or with friends?
Nori: Mostly alone, but I enjoy hiking with people I meet.
German Hiker: Me too. It makes the hike more fun.
Nori: How long are you traveling in New Zealand?
German Hiker: About three weeks. I want to see mountains and nature.
Nori: That sounds wonderful. Are you carrying all your gear in your pack?
German Hiker: Yes, everything is in here. It’s heavy, but I’m used to it.
Nori: Same here. Hiking boots and a good pack make a big difference.
German Hiker: That’s true. Would you like to walk together for a while?
Nori: Yes, I’d love that. Let’s follow the track up to the next lookout.
German Hiker: Great! Let’s enjoy the trail together.
Role Play: Nori Meets a Canadian Hiker
Nori: Hi there! Are you taking a short break?
Canadian Hiker: Yes, I am. This trail is beautiful, but it’s a bit tiring.
Nori: I agree. The climb is steep in some places.
Canadian Hiker: Yes, but the view makes it worth it.
Nori: Are you hiking Mount Tongariro for the first time?
Canadian Hiker: Yes, I am. I flew to New Zealand from Canada last week.
Nori: Wow, that’s far! Where in Canada are you from?
Canadian Hiker: I’m from Vancouver. How about you?
Nori: I’m from Japan. I love meeting travelers on hiking trails.
Canadian Hiker: That’s nice. I enjoy talking to people from different countries too.
Nori: What do you think of New Zealand so far?
Canadian Hiker: I love it. The mountains and lakes are very beautiful.
Nori: Yes, the scenery here feels very clean and peaceful.
Canadian Hiker: Do you hike a lot in Japan?
Nori: Yes, I often hike in the mountains near my home.
Canadian Hiker: That sounds great. Maybe you can tell me about them.
Nori: Sure. I’d be happy to share.
Canadian Hiker: Would you like to walk together for a while?
Nori: Yes, let’s hike to the next rest area.
Canadian Hiker: Perfect. Let’s go.
